Dr Ramachary Komanduri, an accomplished playback singer and music director, serves as the driving force behind Little Music Academy, an institution based in Hyderabad that offers free Light music education to students under the age of 18. Dr K. Ramachary was from Medak district in Telangana and born to Sri K Krishnamachari and Yashodamma. Sri Krishnamachari was a vedic priest and a Harikatha artist.
From a young age, Dr Ramachary Komanduri accompanied his father to various performances, sparking his initial interest in music. Gifted with a melodious voice, he received training in Classical music from Kumari Oruganti Leelavathi and in light music from Sri PV Saibaba. Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing Hyderabad as a prominent hub for Telugu film music, transitioning it from its traditional stronghold in Chennai.
Although renowned for his captivating renditions of devotional and light music for television and radio shows, Sri Ramachary Komanduri derives immense satisfaction from imparting musical training to young learners. He takes pleasure in guiding them through the vast and diverse world of music, nurturing their talent and instilling a love for the art form.
In essence, Dr Ramachary Komanduri is not only a remarkable musician in his own right but also a dedicated mentor and teacher who finds joy in shaping the musical journeys of aspiring artists, particularly the young ones, at LMA.
He received the prestigious Nandi Award from the Andhra Pradesh State Government for his exceptional contributions to Telugu film music. In addition, he has been honored with several notable accolades, including the Delhi Telugu Academy Award, Vamsee International Award, and Kalaradhana Award. In recognition of his remarkable impact on music and education, he was also conferred an honorary doctorate by Vignan Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (Deemed to be University).
